Based on the tried and tested Altberg Tethera. The Nordkapp is a classic 3 season hill walking boot, suitable for Lakeland Fells and the Scottish hills.
There has been a cosmetic change to the Nordkapp. Please see product picture for new collar, lace, and stitching colour. This comes into effect from March 2024 and whilst we will endeavour to supply you with the version you require, our warehouse and in-store stock will be mixed until all the old brown version has sold through. Please contact the stores or our webteam for any specific colour requirements.
Now featuring a mixture of 2.0/2.2mm supple full grain leather to offer more flexibility and “out of box” comfort.
The upper is a seamless one-piece construction, made from first grade 2.6mm Italian Nubuck, backed up by a Sympatex waterproof lining. Added protection to the upper comes from a full rubber rand with increased height around the toe and a higher collar gives excellent ankle stability. The underfoot support comes from a polypropylene, Tri-Flex midsole with a level 3 flex, which gives excellent torsional support and stability underfoot. The main difference between the Tethera and Nordkapp is the fitting (last). The Nordkapp is made on the A-Forme foot shape, which has an asymmetric forefoot, increased toe spring and a narrower heel, providing a slightly lower volume and snugger fit than the Tethera. *The AForme refers to the more asymmetric shape of the last. Many of the features are taken from running shoe characteristics, a narrower heel and waist to hold and support the rear of the foot, an increased upwards toe lift (rocker), reduced sideways pressure on the large toe, and a wider forefoot with slightly above medium volume.
